Tanja Brühl is president of Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany.
She studied biology and political science and was a research associate at the Universities of Duisburg-Essen, the Institute for Development and Peace and Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany.

In 2002, she received her doctoral degree
in political science from Goethe University Frankfurt. From 2002 to 2007, Tanja Brühl was assistant professor of peace and conflict research, from 2007 to 2019 professor of political science with a focus on international institutions and peace processes at Goethe University Frankfurt.
Tanja Brühl is active as a science manager: She served as vice president responsible for academic affairs at Goethe University Frankfurt. Since 2019, Tanja Brühl is president of Technical University Darmstadt.

She was president of the CLUSTER consortium (2019-2020). Since 2019, she is president of the University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering (Unite!).
She is spokesperson
of the five universities of the Federal State of Hesse (Konferenz Hessischer Universitätspräsidien, KHU).
